Outside of her own practice she has worked as a performer, a deviser, a choreographer and a co-director for a variety of arts companies including Duckie, Carnesky Productions and Zephyr & Zanussi. She has presented work at The Barbican, Chelsea Theatre, The Roundhouse, Stratford Circus, Rich Mix, Battersea Arts Centre, ICA, the Lowry and the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.

Lara is working as a producer on the development and presentation of H Plewis’ first significant solo piece – ‘H: The One and Half Woman Show’ supported by Arts Council England.

“H plewis is an accomplished contemporary dancer she creates visual spectacles that reel from the macabre to the melancholy, work that is at once highly entertaining whilst being innovative and provocative. She sings, she dances and she deconstructs feminine identity. There is a wildness to her practice that can be excitingly dangerous in live performance”
— Simon Casson, founder and director of Duckie
